 Inner Hope is seeking a Home Support Worker to support the Home Support Coordinators in our housing program. This role provides respite coverage and practical support within The Home, helping maintain a supportive, family-style environment where youth can experience stability, encouragement, and growth.                                                                 Our Home provides long-term housing for youth and young adults aged 16–24 who are seeking support, structure, and accountability. The Home is a substance-free environment guided by the Seven Grandfather Teachings: love, respect, honesty, courage, truth, wisdom, and humility.

Location: Vancouver, BC - All duties take place on-site at The Home (this role is not remote or hybrid)

Compensation: $23–$25 per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications. 24-hour coverage will be allotted $225

Hours

  • Two evening shifts per week (12 hours total)
  • Occasional additional hours for meetings or coverage as needed
  • Hours may vary but will not exceed 52 hours within a four-week period

Key Responsibilities

•       Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and grocery shopping

•       Support residents’ care plans and collaborate with Home Support Coordinators

  • Provide mentorship, support, and encouragement to youth living in The Home
  • Support community-building and a safe, welcoming environment
  • Maintain accurate records and complete incident reports when required
  • Assist with transportation and occasional outings with residents
  • Participate in meetings with the Home Support Coordinators and Director of Programs

Qualifications

  • Passion for Inner Hope’s mission, vision, and values
  • Strong ability to keep shared spaces clean, organized, and well maintained
  • Experience working or volunteering with youth (especially youth with lived trauma experience)
  • Strong relational, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to model healthy boundaries and responsible behaviour
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Acceptable criminal record check
