Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Manager of Communications and Digital Strategy plays a central role in helping Threshold (THS) build lasting relationships with donors, volunteers, and the broader community. This position exists to translate the organization’s work into clear, compelling, and values‑aligned stories that support fundraising, strengthen community trust, and amplify THS’s mission.
With a strong focus on fundraising communications, this role works closely with the Development team to ensure donors and community members understand THS’s impact, connect to the mission, and are inspired to engage and support. The Manager of Communications and Digital Strategy leads day‑to‑day marketing and communications activities, blending strategy, creative production, and hands‑on execution.
This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The salary range is $76,571 to $83,106 per year dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or digital media, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or digital strategy roles.
• Experience developing and implementing communications strategies that support fundraising, donor engagement, and community awareness.
• Strong storytelling and content creation skills, with the ability to communicate organizational impact to diverse audiences.
• Experience managing communications campaigns and digital platforms, including websites, social media, and email marketing, and using analytics to inform strategy.
• Experience collaborating with fundraising/development teams; nonprofit or mission-driven sector experience preferred.
• Strong visual storytelling skills, including photography, videography, and basic editing.
• Proficiency with digital tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and social media management platforms.
• Experience with Keela or similar CRM systems is an asset.
• Understanding of branding and communications best practices grounded in equity, decolonization, and inclusion.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Working conditions
• Full-time permanent position (37.5 hours per week).
• Operates out of the head office, with a combination of visits to program sites across Threshold and partner locations.
• Travel is required to attend events, conferences, and meetings.
Special requirements
• Valid driver’s license and consistent access to a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance (business level).
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
• Criminal record check prior to employment, and subject to regular review.
