This is a 12-month mandate in Accra, Ghana.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in in about ten countries in Africa, Latin America, and Middle East over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with the Oxfam in Ghana and the PEASANT FARMERS’ ASSOCIATION OF GHANA (PFAG), the Advisor will contribute to:

  • Support the implementation of VCP monitoring system for tracking progress and quality of activities, including surveys, assessments, and outcome monitoring for VCP program.
  • Develop and facilitate tailored training and mentorship programs to enhance partners' MEAL skills, focusing on data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Work with partners to develop user-friendly MEAL tools, guidelines, and frameworks adapted to their specific needs and project requirements.
  • Create and facilitate a MEAL Community of Practice (CoP) among partners, encouraging the exchange of ideas, methodologies, and learning Contribute to disseminate Oxfam’s fields of expertise and those of its partners in national and international networks.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada 
  • Have university degree in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, or other relevant fields
  • Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience related to this mandate. Experience working within the agriculture value chain as a plus 
  • Have experience in using MEAL software and data analysis
  • Have Experience in capacity building and training
  • Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required)
  • Master the Microsoft Office Suite
