The Opportunity
The Equipment & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the allocation and movement of equipment and supplies to support branch operations and programs. Based out of our Provincial Head Office in Vancouver, this role ensures that all assets are available, safe and in good working conditions. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting operational efficiency, monitoring inventory, delivering equipment, and working closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain compliance with company policy and safety standards. All duties and responsibilities are to be completed accurately, professionally, and in alignment with the vision and standards of St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Regularly and safely transport equipment to various branches and client locations in the lower mainland, including North Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Surrey.
- Coordinate with branch staff on the allocation and delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all equipment (e.g. first aid kits, AED's, Annie dolls, etc.) using tracking systems or spreadsheets.
- Track deliveries and trips using a logbook.
- Monitor equipment and vehicle usage and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Monitor equipment stock levels and send purchase requests to Branch staff to prevent stock out and minimize excess inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and external stakeholders.
- Ensure equipment and storage areas meet organizational safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Work closely with internal departments (Training, Operations, Community Services, etc.) to provide equipment and logistics support with program and event requirements. May require occasional evening or weekend work to support special events or training schedules.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- 1 year of experience in inventory management, equipment coordination, or a similar operations role is an asset.
- Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and documentation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with inventory/asset management systems or ERP's and MS Office is an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures relating to equipment storage, handling, and transportation is an asset.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required.
