Job Description:
Job Title: Manager, Marketing and Communications

1- Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Manager, Marketing and Communications drives the delivery of compelling content and communications that strengthen Right To Play's brand, deepen donor and partner engagement, and amplify the organization's impact across global markets.
2- Accountability & Responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of Right To Play's global content strategy, overseeing the content calendar, producing high-quality multi-format collateral, and coordinating with external content creators, photographers, videographers, and designers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with brand standards. (35%)
Support the development and execution of fundraising communications plans for major programs and projects, leading the writing and production of donor-facing materials including marketing appeals, social media content, emails, and the Global Annual Report, ensuring timely and effective dissemination of results and learnings to internal and external audiences. (35%)
Contribute to organizational communications capacity by acting as an internal agency resource for colleagues and country and national offices, providing hands-on support in writing, editing, marketing, and social media best practices, supporting the implementation of the project management system, managing project-level budgets and vendor contracts, and coaching colleagues on communications best practices. (20%)
Support Right To Play's media relations, influencer, and Global Ambassador programs by maintaining media relationships, developing pitches and materials, and contributing to the implementation of the Global Ambassador Strategy. (10%)

3- Scope (geographical and/or functional), Impact and Autonomy
This role operates globally, supporting communications activities across Right To Play's countries of operation and engaging donors, partners, and media across key fundraising markets. The incumbent operates with a moderate level of autonomy, independently managing their own workload and project timelines in line with the departmental plan. They are responsible for day-to-day decisions related to content production, vendor management, and communications quality, while escalating strategic decisions and higher-risk communications to the Director, Marketing and Communications.
4- Leadership and Staff management
The incumbent exercises informal leadership across the Global Communications Team and broader organization, providing communications guidance, coaching colleagues on best practices, and supporting the implementation of shared tools and systems. The incumbent also leads external relationships with content vendors and contractors, providing directions on deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.
5-Information requirement for decision-making
The incumbent uses internal program data, fundraising insights, and media monitoring to inform their work, applying organizational guidelines to most decisions. Strong judgement is needed when turning complex program information into clear, compelling content for external audiences.
6- Innovation and Improvements
The incumbent is expected to continuously identify opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and reach of Right To Play's communications outputs.
This includes bringing fresh approaches to content creation and storytelling, improving workflows and collaboration through the project management system, and identifying emerging communications trends and tools that can enhance the organization's effectiveness.
7- Relationships & Communications: Internal / External:
Internal: The incumbent collaborates closely with the HQ Comms and Global Communications Teams, Country and National Office communications leads, the Global Partnerships Team, and National Directors.
External: The incumbent maintains relationships with communications vendors, media contacts, and supports engagement with ambassadors, influencers, and funding partners.

The incumbent may be required to travel to Right To Play's countries of operation periodically. This role is based in Toronto and is primarily performed in an office or remote desk-based environment.
