Job Description:
Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a contract full-time, 40 hours per week, Job Developer in EDMONTON to join our Community Outreach & Disability Service. We are looking for staff who are client-centered, trauma-informed, patient, engaging, confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in the community. The contract will end on March 31, 2030.
Program Overview:
The Employer Relations and Job Developer is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, creating inclusive employment opportunities, and supporting participants’ successful entry into and retention in the workforce. This role serves as a bridge between marginalized mothers seeking employment and employers seeking reliable, supported employees.
Working from a trauma‑informed, strength‑based framework, the Job Developer advocates for participants, supports employers in creating welcoming work environments, and collaborates closely with internal program staff to ensure appropriate job matching, placement, and employment retention.
Job Summary:
- Maintain detailed records of employer contacts, partnership agreements, placement documentation, and outreach activities
- Prepare outreach reports, summaries, and evaluation inputs as required
- Support program data entry and communication between employers, participants, and internal staff
- Assist with coordinating materials, transportation needs, and on‑site logistics for outreach and recognition events
- Work collaboratively with other staff to support overall program delivery
- Co‑facilitate or deliver employment‑related workshops, group sessions, or employer presentations as needed
- Draft joint work plans outlining placement expectations, roles, and goals
- Coordinate onboarding processes, mentorship supports, workplace tours, and employer information sessions
- Support employer recognition events and contribute to evaluation activities
- Mentor participants during Work‑Based Learning placements and provide guidance throughout the employment period

- Conduct regular participant and employer retention checks
- Troubleshoot employer or participant concerns to maximize retention success
- Draft outcome reports summarizing participant progress, employer feedback, and retention trends
- Participate in case conferences, planning meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Contribute to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with logistics for outreach events, employer sessions, and recognition initiatives
Employer Relationships and Partnerships
- Develop, nurture, and maintain positive relationships with local employers, businesses, and industry partners
- Build and maintain at least 15 employer relationships to support Work‑Based Learning (WBL) and job placement opportunities
- Secure work placements and coordinate recruitment outreach to align employer needs with participant skills
- Identify and cultivate job opportunities aligned with participants’ skills, interests, and employment readiness
- Educate employers on the program model and the benefits of hiring marginalized mothers
- Promote inclusive, equitable, and supportive workplace practices
- Act as a liaison between employers and program staff to address expectations, accommodations, and workplace concerns
Job Development and Placement
- Represent the program at job fairs, community events, and business networking activities
- Match participants with suitable employment, work experience, or training opportunities
- Coordinate job placements, work trials, and employment start‑up processes
- Support participants and employers during onboarding and early employment stages
- Monitor job placements and follow up to support employment retention and success
- Assist in problem‑solving workplace challenges in collaboration with participants and employers
- Collaborate with Intake Coordinators, Counsellors, and Instructors to support participants’ employment goals
- Provide coaching and encouragement related to workplace expectations, communication, and retention
- Advocate on behalf of participants when barriers arise in the workplace and mediate conflict as needed
- Support transitions as participants move between training, placement, and employment stages
- Conduct regular participant and employer retention check ins
- Mentor participants during Work‑Based Learning placements and provide guidance throughout the employment period
- Troubleshoot employer or participant concerns to maximize retention success.
- Draft outcome reports summarizing participant progress, employer feedback, and retention trends.
- Provide one year of follow-up support to the participants at 3, 6, and 9-month intervals
What This Job Requires:
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Business Relations, Human Services, Employment Counselling, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum two years of experience in employment services, employer relations, community engagement, recruitment, or outreach roles; administrative experience is an asset
- Experience in building partnerships with employers or community organizations is preferred.
- Proficiency with social media platforms used for outreach (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
- A reliable vehicle, vehicle registration and third-party liability insurance (two million)
- Driver's Abstract with less than (6) demerit points current within one (1) year
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with at least two years of Canadian driving experience.
