Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Audience Growth, the Social Media and Content Specialist will lead the following areas:

Social Media

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Winspear, ESO, and YONA social media strategies
  • Manage all our social media channels, currently including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube, including planning and scheduling organic posts, and being responsible for community management
  • Steward the online personality of the Winspear, ESO, and YONA, and maintain consistent brand tone for each entity
  • Write inventive and engaging post copy, proof and publish posts for all our social media platforms, ensuring that they adhere to brand guidelines
  • Ensure our brands remain relevant and competitive by staying ahead of the ever-evolving marketing landscape, actively monitoring platform updates across channels including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging social platforms

Content & Storytelling

  • Collaborate with an editorial content team to create an editorial plan that spans social media and other forms of communication, including blog posts and email marketing
  • Capture photos and videos and edit videos into a wide variety of content forms, including short-form promotional videos, long-form storytelling pieces, and paid digital ads
  • Create static visual content that applies strong graphic design principles and adheres to brand guidelines

Innovation & Data-Driven Marketing

  • Continuously research, test, and implement new AI-powered tools across a variety of platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Canva, CapCut, Sprout Social) to enhance the quality and efficiency of content creation, automation, analytics, and campaign performance.
  • Translate industry insights, algorithm changes, and AI advancements into actionable strategies that grow our audience and improve engagement, reach, and conversions.
  • Experiment with innovative content formats, automation workflows, and data-driven optimization to continuously improve efficiency and ROI.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the team, serving as an internal resource on digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and AI-driven content strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media and producing digital content for a brand, organization, or cultural institution
  • Demonstrated portfolio of social media campaigns or digital content
  • Knowledge or interest in orchestral music, live performance, or the performing arts
  • Experience working in arts, entertainment, or live events is an asset
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends for concerts and special events

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience planning and managing social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well as scheduling content using social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later)
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone for different brands, platforms and audiences
  • Experience filming and editing short-form video for social media (e.g., Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
  • Basic photography and photo editing skills
  • Proficiency with creative tools for static and video content and ads such as Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms
