The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual as a Junior Data Analyst. This is a 12-week role working 35 hours/week from May 25-August 14, 2026, to support the Business Intelligence Team.

The position requires candidates to meet the following criteria:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and refugee Protection Act
Legally entitled to work in Alberta and Canada
What you will do:
Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights that support business decisions
Apply analytical thinking to understand business questions and translate them into structured data analyses
Extract, transform, and prepare data for analysis, ensuring datasets are accurate, well‑structured, and fit for purpose
Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to data collection, processes, or definitions
Review, understand, and document existing data systems, data flows, datasets, and analytical outputs to build knowledge of the current environment
Maintain clear documentation for data definitions, business rules, assumptions, calculations, and analytical logic
Develop and maintain analytical views, queries, and supporting visuals; creation of reports and dashboards (Power BI experience is an asset) supports analysis rather than drives it
Assist with historical and ad‑hoc analysis to answer business questions and support planning and process improvement initiatives
Collaborate with business users and the Business Intelligence team to clarify requirements, validate findings, and communicate insights
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Intelligence Manager
Qualifications:
Education related to or with a focus on Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Management
Intermediate skills using MS Office
Knowledge of data management processes
Organizational skills and ability to work with large amount of data and information
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with many details and being organized and able to prioritize work
Positive attitude with motivation to learn and grow professionally
Takes initiative and demonstrates proactiveness
Able to work evening and weekends when required
