This is a 1-month mandate based in Tunisia, in Sibi-Bouzid.

The mandate is part of the Equality in Action Voluntary Cooperation Programme (PCV), which is being rolled out in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The PCV aims to increase the involvement of local partners in the countries of intervention in inclusive, innovative and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organisations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalised people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam puts the rights of women, girls and vulnerable and marginalised people at the heart of all its actions.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Under the coordination of Oxfam Tunisia and in close collaboration with the PCV programme manager in Tunisia and members of the ATAC team, your role will involve:

  • Providing ATAC members with the theoretical knowledge required to develop an organisational strategic plan;
  • Supporting the ATAC team in mastering and developing practical strategic planning tools: context analysis, setting strategic objectives, selecting strategies and areas of intervention, operationalisation, etc.;
  • Supporting the association in updating its strategic plan.

For this mandate, you must:

  • Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have a university degree in organisational development, project management, international development, or any other relevant field;
  • Have at least two years’ professional experience relevant to the role, particularly in adult education and strategic planning;
  • Have a very good understanding of the specific challenges faced by women’s rights organisations
  • Have good understanding of the donor ecosystem (NGOs, development agencies, foundations, embassies, etc.)
  • Possess a good understanding of the socio political context in Tunisia;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Be fluent in spoken and written French (mandatory). Proficiency in Arabic or English is an asset.
