CONTRACTOR TEACHING SERVICES
Place des Arts is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Literary Arts Teacher to teach on Tuesday afternoons and/or evenings in the 2026/2027 season. The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching and able to engage with students of all ages and abilities. Applicants must submit a class proposal for each course they wish to teach. Contractors will create their curriculum and teaching methods, while Place des Arts will handle studio space, scheduling, and promotions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of post-secondary education in literary arts/creative writing or equivalent
Minimum of three years of teaching experience working with students of various abilities in group classes for students aged 5-14 years
Ability to communicate and interact positively with students and staff
Proficient in teaching a variety of ages and abilities
Highly responsible and punctual
Thoughtful, energetic and passionate about teaching
Eager to participate in, and contribute to, our vibrant centre
REQUIREMENTS
All teachers are required to obtain and provide a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector screening prior to providing teaching services.
Teachers are required to submit class proposals for consideration.
Teachers are not employees of Place des Arts and as such are required to work independently within the Place des Arts structure and administrative support provided.
Availability on Tuesdays between 3-9 PM, September 2026 to June 2027

REMUNERATION
Successful candidates will be engaged as independent contractors and earn fees based on student enrolment. Depending on enrolment levels, contractor teachers typically have the opportunity to obtain fees equivalent to between $30 and $65 per teaching hour.
