This Second International Decade is an opportunity to take concrete actions to confront the legacies of enslavement and colonialism, deliver reparatory justice, and secure the full human rights and freedoms of people of African descent worldwide.”
Black Creek Community Health Centre is a community-based healthcare organization serving one of Toronto’s most diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods. Through integrated primary care, community health, and social services, the Centre works to advance health and well-being for individuals and families who face systemic barriers to care. As a key partner and leader within the Northwestern Toronto Ontario Health Team (NWT OHT), BCCHC plays an important role in advancing coordinated, community-based approaches to improving health outcomes across the region. This work is supported by an annual operating budget exceeding $20 million, enabling the organization to deliver accessible, equity-informed care to underserved populations.
BCCHC aims to advance health equity by addressing the social determinants of health and ensuring that services are responsive to the lived realities of the community it serves. It is within this context that Black Creek Community Health Centre invites nominations and applications for the role of Executive Director, a position that will have an indelible impact on the future of the organization and the community it serves.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will guide the organization through a period of leadership transition, strengthen internal alignment and staff engagement, and advance a clear and forward-looking strategic direction. The role requires navigating complexity, balancing equity and inclusion priorities with funding constraints, compliance obligations, and system accountability, while building trust across staff, Board, and community stakeholders.

While all candidates are encouraged to apply and, in so doing, share how they see themselves adding value to the BCCHC environment, the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers of the candidates most likely to realize success in the role: A) Senior leadership experience within community health, social services, healthcare, or a similarly complex public or not-for-profit environment; B) Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through periods of transition, including strengthening organizational stability, alignment, and staff engagement; C) Experience working effectively with Boards, including supporting governance development, building alignment, and navigating evolving Board dynamics; D) A strong track record of working with diverse, equity-deserving communities, with the ability to embed equity, access, and inclusion into decision-making and organizational practice; and, E) Experience managing within a publicly funded, resource-constrained environment, including financial stewardship, risk management, and accountability frameworks.
The expected salary for this position is approximately $185,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This posting reflects a position that is currently occupied, with the incumbent continuing in the role until a successor is appointed.
