TEAM LEAD LEVEL 2 for SSI

(1 Full-time Permanent Position available)

 

About the position:

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Team Lead to join our Specialized Supports for Independence (SSI) program.

 

The Team Lead Level 2 will ensure the completion of specific operational and service delivery responsibilities as related to the individuals and staff within the program. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of quality services and that the overall care, safety and needs of the individuals are being met. This position will assist adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, complex behaviours, high risk issues and substance abuse. The individuals require support to foster community relationships, daily living skills and decision making using a best practice approach.

 

This leadership role includes additional responsibilities related to staff oversight, shift coordination, mentoring, and supporting staff working within a high-acuity mental health and addictions environment. The successful candidate must be confident providing direction, managing crises, supporting team accountability, and promoting a safe, professional, and trauma-informed workplace culture.

 

Hours: 40 hours per week. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule as hours will include days, evenings and weekends.

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

 

What you’ll do:

•       Supporting individuals in developing healthy social, daily living, coping and problem-solving skills

•       Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community

•       Attending regular supervisions with the Program Supervisor as per policy

•       Providing on call and frontline responsibilities as required

•       Motivating and supporting the team using leadership skills, providing resources and direct supervision when required

•       Ensuring that all case management meets program requirements

•       Addressing individual behavioural issues utilizing appropriate and approved techniques and training

•       Participating in ongoing program development

•       Organizing day to day scheduling within the home and completing daily care and upkeep of the home

 

 

What you bring:

•     Completed Degree/ Diploma in the Human Services Field. Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.

•      Five (5) years of related experience in Human Services, two (2) years of which are in a supervisory capacity in the field. Equivalencies may be considered.

•     At least one year of experience supporting adults or older youth with mental health and addiction concerns; leadership or case management experience is an asset.

•     Equivalencies may be considered

•     Security Clearance Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (within the last 6 months)

•     Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED

•     A Class 5 driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and third-party liability insurance (minimum $2 million) is required.

•     Comfort with driving to various locations as required.

•     Familiarity working with high-risk populations, addictions, complex behaviour, poverty, houselessness and the justice system

•     Ability to build healthy relationships and manage crisis situations

•     Excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer/word processing skills

•     Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Naloxone Administration, and Trauma-Informed Care training are considered an asset
