Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, Health Promotion & Community Support, the Administrative Assistant - Communications will assist with implementing the organisation’s communication strategy, including developing content for social media platforms, design accessible flyers and newsletters, and support the organization's social & traditional media presence while participating in developing communications tools that increase awareness of LAMP's services among diverse populations. The student will work with diverse community members and staff while learning communications strategy, brand management, and inclusive design principles.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop engaging content for social media platforms that reflects the Community Health Centre Model of Health and Wellbeing and resonates with our priority populations.
• Design accessible flyers, newsletters, and outreach materials that meet accessibility standards and are appropriate for priority populations.
• Maintain and update the organization's online presence, including content management and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
• Monitor and track social media engagement, analyze analytics, and compile reports to inform communications strategy.
• Support the development of communications tools that increase awareness of LAMP's programs and services among priority populations.
• Ensure brand consistency and inclusive design principles are applied across all print and digital materials.
• Collaborate with health promotion staff and volunteers to align communications with program objectives and outreach goals.
• Assist in developing multi-platform content strategies that address health equity and reduce barriers to accessing health services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
• Currently registered as a full-time student at a recognized post-secondary institution during the previous academic year, with plans to return to school in September 2026.
• Enrollment in a post-secondary program in a related field, such as Public Health, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology, or Social Service/Social Work.
• Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other relevant graphic design tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing and tracking engagement across multiple social media platforms.
• Experience tailoring program communications to effectively reach diverse target populations.
• Experience leading and coordinating outreach activities with communities of varied backgrounds.
• Familiarity with LAMP Community Health Centre, the Central and South Etobicoke communities, and the unique challenges faced by youth in these areas.
• Solid working knowledge of and ability to navigate a Windows PC environment.
Working Conditions
• A combination of onsite work including working outdoors, and travel to off-site location(s)/community partner locations.
• Ensures full compliance with LAMP’s Health & Safety regulations and LAMP’s policies and procedures.
