EmployAbilities is currently hiring a full-time permanent Computer Skills Facilitator for the Restart Your Career Program.
Job Summary
Join our team! EmployAbilities is looking for a Computer Skills Facilitator, supporting the Restart Your Career (RYC) program, working out of our downtown Edmonton office. The successful candidate will bring a strong knowledge of basic computer skills and an ability to instruct learners of varying levels of computer literacy, helping us fulfill our mission of connecting ability to opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct group facilitation and clear instruction of the ASIC computer components and basic administrative software in a manner that develops participants' confidence
• Manage, monitor, and update participants' progress according to policies and procedures
• Ensure completion of assignments and grading of such, within the designated timelines
• Support program participants in the resolution of issues and strategy development to meet curriculum learning objectives
• Solicit and provide feedback regarding participants' issues and concerns as requested
• Assess and advise on recommended changes to the computer training curriculum to provide current/relevant skills to learners in an evolving labor market
• Ensure that all criteria and statistical documentation required by the provincial government are adhered to
• Assist with program applicant screening and selection into the RYC program
• Attend agency staff and program meetings as required
Conditions Of Employment
• Willingness to attend occasional community events within the Edmonton area
• Willingness to participate in professional development activities for both personal and agency benefits
• Clear criminal record check
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary certificate or degree
• Minimum 3 years experience in training basic computer skills, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace & basic AI functionality
• Experience working with persons with disabilities, barriers to employment, or other at-risk populations would be an asset.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
