About the Organization

Sherwood Care has been a cornerstone of compassionate care in Sherwood Park, Alberta, since our establishment in 1969. We are dedicated to providing exceptional, resident-centered care, evolving to meet our community’s growing and changing needs.

Originally designed for elderly individuals who were mobile but required some assistance in their daily lives, our facility has transformed to support residents who now need a much higher level of care and health intervention. We are a Long-Term/Continuing Care Type A home.

Sherwood Care is a faith-based supportive living care facility for seniors, committed to providing outstanding medical, physical, spiritual, and mental health support, ensuring every resident receives the care and lives with the dignity they deserve.

MISSION: Guided by Christian ideals and principles,

our mission is to create a caring and safe environment for residents, their families, and our staff.

VISION: Our vision is that the quality of care we provide to residents and staff will be so compelling that family and others will see a reflection of the ultimate Caregiver.

VALUES: Our core values shape everything we do:

  • Compassion, where we give our best each day and build relationships that impact lives;
  • Trust, where our reliability and dedication to people earn us respect;
  • Teamwork, where we work together to provide exceptional care.

Redevelopment Project

A new six-storey, state-of-the-art home is designed to enhance residents’ quality of life through modern, thoughtful, inclusive spaces, as well as a new Palliative Care program. The exciting new expansion of Sherwood Care is a partnership with the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services.
