SCOPE OF THE POSITION 
Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the incumbent acts as a shelter caseworker within the day 
team at our shelter. They play a crucial role in delivering frontline services to vulnerable clients, 
providing them with support and guidance through a comprehensive range of interventions and 
services. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Specific responsibilities of the shelter caseworker include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Service to clients in the Shelter (Day team) 
● To provide frontline services to shelter clients which include telephone intake and support services, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, supportive counseling and support groups, resources, advocacy work and collaboration with other social services and professionals. 

Outreach and Education 
● To participate in community projects and external committees, to represent Auberge Shalom at events and conferences, and to participate in research or lobbying initiatives that relate to Auberge Shalom’s clientele. 

Organizational Life 
● To participate in team meetings, work planning, committees, annual events, and collaborate with 
center volunteers. 
Perform any other tasks required in the scope of her duties. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
• Bachelor of Social Work or Counseling 
• Experience working in the field of intimate partner violence 
• Experience in crisis intervention 
• Knowledge and experience working in a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach 
• Strong case management skills and experience 
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to work collaboratively within team 
• Motivation, empathy, flexibility, organization 
• Bilingual in French and English to better serve our diverse clientele
