Position: CRCL (Community Response, Community Led) Coordinator
Work Site: 40 Begbie St., New Westminster BC

Hours: 40 hours/week (flexible hours required to meet operational needs)
Who We Are
Purpose Society is a community-based multi-service organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive programs for children, youth, and families. We focus on enhancing well-being, strengthening family functioning, and promoting personal responsibility through a client-centered approach. Our services are provided in a safe, respectful environment that values diversity and community connection.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and committed CRCL Coordinator to join our innovative team and make a meaningful difference in our community. The Crisis Response Community Led (CRCL) team offers an alternative to police involvement at mental health crisis calls in New Westminster. The teams offer crisis support services that integrate cultural safety protocols and holistic care options for callers in crisis aged 13 years and older. This program aims to reduce the harms experienced by people who have mental health and addictions challenges as well as Black, Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ2+ and other marginalized individuals.
As the CRCL Coordinator, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing all program operations, supporting frontline staff, and advancing a model of care rooted in equity, dignity, and community connection. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the various barriers to access the healthcare system, knowledge of community resources, and a strong need for advocacy for appropriate services and care.
What You'll Do
Training Requirements
Successful candidates must complete all required training, which consists of multiple full-day sessions. Full participation is a condition of employment for this role. Individuals who are unable to attend and complete the full training program, regardless of employment status (full-time, part-time, or casual), will not be eligible to join the team.
