HR Worker Care Generalist

This role operates in the International Program at the intersection of employee relations, global HR compliance, and worker care. It requires HR best practice, high emotional intelligence, cross-cultural experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders. The role will navigate complex situations and support staff well-being through both routine HR processes and crisis response actions.

The position works closely with and takes direction from the International Program Compensation and Worker Care Lead. The incumbent is expected to embody and reflect the Christian faith foundation of MCC in all aspects of work and relationships.

Essential:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Counselling, Business Admin or other relevant areas
  • 3-5 years related HR experience, including processes and systems administration
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance on employee relations issues with discretion and sensitivity, and support personnel issues, crises and workplace concerns
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, consultative and relationship-building skills, especially within diverse groups
  • Experience in policy development and interpretation
  • Experience creating, developing, or editing crisis care and/or spiritual care resources
  • Knowledge of HR legislation, employment standards requirements and best practices
  • Ability to educate, consult and influence stakeholders (staff, supervisors, and leadership)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and productively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
  • Demonstrated discretion with confidential information
  • Proficiency in MS Office and online tools
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally frequently, including obtaining and maintaining any required visas or travel documentation
  • Police record check

Preferred:

  • Prior MCC experience
  • Cross-cultural/international service experience
  • Proficiency in another language especially French and/or Spanish
  • Experience designing or facilitating adult learning
  • Experience working in a faith-based or non-profit organization
  • Experience or education in conflict resolution, mediation, or ombud practice
  • Experience supporting staff during crises
