Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and bilingual Women’s Visual Heritage Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both French and English, flexible, and detail oriented. This role involves interpreting and communicating women’s visual heritage to diverse audiences through educational programming, guided tours, and workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and communicate the museum’s exhibitions and collections effectively in both French and English.
• Engage diverse audiences, including school groups and adult learners, through educational tours and programs.
• Assist in developing curriculum and workshop content focused on women’s visual heritage.
• Convey historical narratives with cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Work independently and collaboratively within the museum team.

Qualifications:

• Degree in History, Art History, Cultural Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Additional coursework or certifications in Women’s Studies or Gender Studies is a plus.
• Fluency in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in art interpretation, education, or related fields is an asset.
• Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and work without supervision.
• Experience with public speaking and educational programming is desirable.
• Knowledge of women’s contributions to art history and contemporary art practices is beneficial.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage audiences respectfully.
