The Campbell River Medical Staff Engagement Initiative Society (CRMSEI) is looking for an experienced, highly organized Executive Administrator to support the physician-led, not-for-profit organization representing physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives. The CRMSEI is where physicians and health professionals can collaborate, lead improvements in the health system, and enhance both the health care provider experience and ultimately, patient care.
This is an Independent Contract position with the Society (CRMSEI). It is a dynamic role for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys building relationships, and can confidently balance governance, administration, event planning, and project support. You'll work closely with the CRMSEI Executive team and Directors, while supporting membership.
A working knowledge of Island Health, Doctors of BC, the Ministry of Health, and other health care partners is essential. You'll help and support the MSA initiatives and:
Primarily work remote, attending local (Campbell River) meetings and events in person throughout the year
Attend Executive meetings which are scheduled based on medical staff availability
Attend Working Group meetings which are primarily virtual and scheduled after hours
A Laptop and work-related materials are provided by the Society
NOTE: This is a one-year contract opportunity for an Independent Contractor. The Society is seeking a long-term working relationship, and the agreement can be renewed annually, subject to mutual agreement and the ongoing needs of the society.
As the Executive Administrator, you will:
Support the Society's Board and Working Group by ensuring the smooth operation of the Society, including meeting the non-profit governance, financial, and administrative responsibilities
Coordinate meetings, preparing meeting packages and recording the minutes
Review all activity and/or event applications, supporting the physician and allied health led activities and projects as required
Build and maintain strong relationships with Society partners including but not restricted to other Drs of BC Societies, the Campbell River and District Division of Family Practice, Island Health, the Campbell River General Hospital, and the City of Campbell River
Monitor budgets, financial documentation, and work closely with the Society's bookkeeper, the Executive and Doctors of BC/Facility Engagement financial processes
Prepare concise reports, briefing notes, and communications keeping the Society leaders and interest-holders informed
Coordinate multiple priorities while anticipating issues and following through on commitments
We're looking for someone who:
Has knowledge and experience working with health authorities, physicians, allied health care providers, and/or medical associations
Experience serving on or supporting a board, the executive, or senior leadership team within a non-profit organization and has a strong understanding of non-profit governance and financial administration
A commitment to continuously improve processes and practices
Proven activity/project support which includes event planning
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information into clear, concise updates and reports
Strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to work effectively with physicians, allied health care providers, senior leaders, and external partners
High attention to detail and sound judgment when handling confidential information
