The Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living is currently accepting applications for a Residence Workers for their many Staffed Residential Group Homes. A certificate and/or experience in a field related to supporting people with developmental disabilities is required. Paid vacation time, sick time, benefits and pension plan for eligible position(s). RMACL is a nonprofit agency providing services and support for people with developmental disabilities, children at risk of a developmental disability or delay, and their families. We have been active in the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows since 1958 and today provide a wide range of services to over 700 children, adults and families.

Specific Requirements for the role:

• Ability to follow support plans, safety plans, de-escalation strategies and sensory related activities.
• A strong willingness to work with individuals’ and their specific support practices-daily schedules, menu plans, visual schedules, support stories, life skill development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including family and professionals involved in the individuals’ lives.
• Ability to document electronic entries using person centered language.
• Ability to engage in community settings, e.g., swimming, basketball, recycling, shopping, and hiking, with the supported individual based on their preferences.

Hiring Requirements:

Must have, or be willing to obtain, the following:

• Class 5 Driver’s License
• First Aid/CPR
• Cleared Criminal Record Check
• Clearance from Physician
• Food Handlers Certificate
• NVCI/MANDT (or willing to obtain)
• Basic Sign language would be an asset.

An equivalent of education and/or experience may be considered for this position.

START DATE: A.S.A.P.

SALARY: Classification; Residence Worker Grid Level 10

B.C.G.E.U. Collective Agreement. $25.95 -$29.76 per hour, increases every 2000 hours worked.
