Position: Registered clinical counselor-Medical clinic.

Hours: 21 hours per week

Contract: Temporary, until March 31, 2022

Schedule: Hybrid work 


Do you want to be a part of an innovative and dedicated team of vocational rehabilitation counsellors?  


This position supports the delivery of “LINKS to Employment”- an integrated health and social service project as part of a new initiative delivered in partnership between REACH and the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Working alongside Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellors, the clinician provides the full continuum of support to people facing barriers to employment.  Specific responsibilities include providing a full range of psychosocial assessments, developing comprehensive integrated care plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions as it relates client’s vocational rehabilitation goals.  The clinician offers one-to one counselling based on Solution-Focus Brief Therapy, facilitates group workshops, and works as part of the IPS supported employment team to meet client’s employment goals.

The Clinical Counselor is jointly accountable to the Operations Manager, Medical Clinic and the Links programme manager.


Highlights of Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters in counselling psychology or related discipline and registration with a counselling or psychotherapy association or body recognized in British Columbia and professional liability insurance for practice in British Columbia.
  • Minimum three years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, with complex health needs, in a multi-cultural environment.
  • An understanding of the unique challenges facing Indigenous people and communities, and extensive experience in providing a culturally safe therapeutic environment in partnership with Indigenous individuals and families.
