Do you value outdoor education and have a strong background in financial management?  Join us in making our facility a place to reconnect youth to the outdoors, as well as providing a safe area for others to learn outdoor survival skills.

Narrow Lake Conservation Center is located on Narrow Lake, south of  Athabasca.  Board meets a minimum of 4 times per year, in person, at the camp or a nearby facility.  Financial institution used is in the Morinville Alberta, but is set up for electronic access and can be done remotely.

 

Board Vision and Mission

Our vision is to provide and operate a facility that will enhance conservation and outdoor ethics education.  Our mission is to provide a facility for present and future generations, to become aware of conservation education, outdoor survival skills and to allow a wilderness experience.

 

Treasurer Authority and Responsibility 

As a Senior Executive Member of the Board of Directors the Treasurer carries the same Authority, Responsibility, Requirements and General Duties as set out in the Roles & Responsibilities of the Board of Directors. 

Term 

The Treasurer is elected at the Annual General Meeting for a two-year term as set out in the current Narrow Lake Conservation Centre Bylaw.

Liability 

As a member of the Board, the same Liability clause set out in the Roles & Responsibilities of the Board of Directors applies. 

 

Treasurer Duties 

As set out in Section 5 of NLCC Bylaws: 

  1. The Treasurer shall be responsible for carrying out the financial matters and keeping the financial records of the organization in order.
  2. The Treasurer shall ensure a Yearly Financial Report of the organization is carried out by the Financial Review Committee prior to the Annual General Meeting. 
  3. The Treasurer must issue receipts for monies received by the organization and deposit the monies in the account(s) of the organization.
  4. The Treasurer shall be responsible for ensuring that funds are used in accordance with spending restrictions.
  5. The Treasurer shall be responsible for and keep an account of all expenditures and revenue received and disbursed and file all bills, receipts and vouchers of the organization.
