Profile

The Director of Programs plays a critical role in ensuring the success of Canadian For A Civil Society's mission by leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality programs that effectively address community needs. This position requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with strong leadership, strategic planning, and program management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the board on industry trends and strategic challenges relating to the mission of the organization, and assess community needs for programs and services.

  • Ensure that programs are developed and implemented that meet the needs of the community and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Identify key indicators for measuring the quality and success of programs and track them. 

  • Plan and implement strategies to increase awareness and participation in programs.

  • Oversee new program development and monitor and assess existing programs.

  • Initiate and guide programs’ evaluations.

  • Facilitate discussions about program priorities for the organization.

Qualifications

  • Preferred but not required - Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, non-profit management, education, public health, political science)
  • Atleast 2 years of experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation within a non-profit or related setting
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, track key performance indicators, and analyze data
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Passion for the mission of CCS and a commitment towards a civil society
