Profile

The Director of Communications & Marketing is a key member of the leadership team at Canadians For A Civil Society, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that elevates the organization's public profile, strengthens its brand, and supports its mission. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • To prepare priorities for board composition,

  • To meet with prospective board members and cultivate membership,

  • To conduct orientation sessions for new board members and to organize training sessions for the entire board, and

  • To suggest new, non-board individuals for committee membership.

Qualifications

  • Preferred but not required - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field OR
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications and marketing roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful communications strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with social media management tools and platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Worskpace, Canva, and Trello
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
