Organization Overview
The Durham Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) is a non-profit feminist organization that believes in the equality of all regardless of race, class, sexual orientation, or gender. We work with and provide crisis and support services via 24/7 phone and chat, counselling (individual and group), anti-violence advocacy, accompaniment, and support services for survivors of sexual violence and their families/support people. We are committed to taking an active role in our community to end all forms of violence against women and children. As a Rape Crisis Centre we work with and provide support services to recent as well as historical or childhood survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and childhood sexual abuse and their families. Summary of Role
As a Bingo volunteer you will be representing the DRCC at a local Ontario Lottery Gaming location and acting as an advocate and with general customer service skills. The DRCC is fortunate to receive a portion of profits through the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association, and as such we are required to represent our organization at a local OLG business during our set hours. You will be provided a collared shirt, name tag, and will be sharing information about the DRCC, and supporting general operations at the gaming location.
Role Responsibilities
● Attend general DRCC training/orientation
● Represent DRCC as an advocate during set hours (2 hour shifts)
● Attend OCGA/OLG online training, and shadow an experienced volunteer prior to first shift
● Participate with, as needed, customer service tasks, including cleaning screens and other maintenance tasks
● Other duties as agreed upon

Qualifications and Skill Sets:
We are looking for:
● Volunteers who are comfortable in social settings and able to engage with the public.
● Volunteers with effective communication skills and customer service experience
● Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required
● Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness (OWHSA) training required
● Ability to work independently, using self-motivation, with minimal supervision
