Do you want to make a difference in the lives of youth with developmental disabilities? Gain leadership, mentorship, and facilitation experience while strengthening your resume!

About the Opportunity:

  • LEAP (Leading Employment & Achieving Possibilities) is a summer program for youth (ages 16-19) to explore work opportunities and build employment skills.
  • Role of Peer Mentors: Teach life skills and facilitate workshops on employment related topics including using public transit, money management, and exploring employment interests.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Empathetic, willing to serve as a role model, guide, and motivator
  • Available for up to 8 hours every two weeks from end of June to August
  • Reliable transportation in the Delta and Surrey area
  • Experience with developmental disabilities is an asset but not required

About the program:

LEAP is part of the IMPACT 2.0 Youth Employment Research Project aimed at improving employment outcomes for youth with developmental disabilities or autism.
