Volunteer Opportunity: Drop-In Centre Support — Vancouver Women’s Health Collective (VWHC)
The Vancouver Women’s Health Collective (VWHC) is a volunteer-run non-profit located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Since 1974, we have provided minimal-barrier, trauma-informed, community-driven health and wellness support to self-identifying women, gender-diverse, and Two-Spirit community members.
We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to support our Drop-In Resource Centre, open Wednesday–Friday from 1:00–4:30 PM.
Welcome and support community members accessing our space
Help distribute food, clothing, hygiene items, and menstrual products
Assist with the Community Fridge and Clothing Room
Offer peer support in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive way
Help maintain a welcoming, safe, inclusive environment
People who value gender inclusion, LGBTQ2SIA+ equity, cultural safety, and trauma-informed care
Warm, reliable individuals who can commit to one 4.5-hour shift per week, ideally for 6 month minimum
Volunteers comfortable working in a vibrant, diverse DTES community
