Prosper Canada is seeking volunteers for its Board of Directors

Who we are

Founded in 1986, Prosper Canada is a national charity driving bold change to enable more people to prosper. With government, business and community partners across Canada, we are expanding life-changing financial empowerment services, innovating for greater inclusion and impact, and removing barriers to financial well-being for people with low and modest incomes. Our goal is a Canada where everyone has the opportunity and support, they need to achieve financial well-being and live with dignity, stability, and possibility.

Over the next 4 years, tools and services delivered by us and our community partners will help 1 million people with low/moderate incomes to build their financial wellbeing and boost their incomes by $2 billion. In parallel, we will be working with partners in all sectors to innovate for greater inclusion and impact and remove systemic barriers to financial well-being.

As an organization, we embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion as a source of strength and strive to create a collaborative and forward-thinking culture where all feel valued and respected. Our financial empowerment efforts focus on people with low and moderate incomes but also give particular attention to eliminating barriers for Indigenous Peoples as part of our Reconciliation effort, and for Black Canadians and people living with disabilities who experience higher rates of poverty and unique barriers to financial wellbeing.

•       You are resident of a province other than Ontario: You live in Quebec, British Columbia, the Territories, or the Maritimes and would help to bring another regional perspective to our Board.

Our Board of Directors is a policy board focused on strategy, policies, financial stewardship, and organizational sustainability. To learn more about the roles and responsibilities of our Board members, please see our Board of Directors Overview.
