MCC Thrift Shop – Edmonton, AB
MCC Thrift Shop is always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team.
By volunteering with us, you’ll do more than support a retail store. You’ll help people in need locally and globally through the work of Mennonite Central Committee. Volunteering is a meaningful way to build your resume, develop new skills, serve with purpose, and form lasting friendships.
There are many reasons to volunteer with us and many ways to get involved.
Cashier volunteers are a friendly and welcoming face of our organization. By assisting customers with their purchases, volunteers help create a kind and caring presence in the community while raising funds that support MCC’s relief, development, and peace initiatives around the world.
Retail assistants help keep our sales floor organized and inviting. Responsibilities may include restocking shelves, maintaining fitting rooms, organizing displays, and ensuring merchandise is presented neatly and professionally.
Once donations are sorted, volunteers help price and tag items before they reach the retail floor. Whether it’s clothing, books, or household goods, each item priced directly contributes to funding MCC’s global programs. Attention to detail and consistency are key in this role.
Because our merchandise changes daily, creative volunteers are needed to help design and maintain engaging retail and window displays. Volunteers with an eye for design, merchandising, or crafting can play an important role in creating an attractive and dynamic shopping experience.
Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment is essential. Volunteers assist with cleaning tasks that help ensure our shop remains fresh, organized, and enjoyable for customers and fellow volunteers alike.
