Shape the Future of Kidney Cancer Care: Join Our Board of Directors

Kidney Cancer Canada is seeking passionate, strategic leaders to join our Board of Directors and drive our patient-centred mission forward. As a national community dedicated to supporting those touched by kidney cancer, we are looking for individuals who bring both professional expertise and a deep commitment to improving patient outcomes through high-level governance, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership.

We invite applicants with diverse skill sets to help bridge gaps in our current governance structure, fostering innovative approaches to advocacy, education, and research support. While prior board experience is valued, we prioritize a genuine passion for our mission, sound judgment, and a willingness to contribute to our fundraising and networking efforts to expand our impact.

Successful candidates will be emotionally intelligent leaders who align with our core values, offering the time and dedication necessary to engage deeply with our team and community. If you are a strategic thinker ready to contribute to a collaborative board, we encourage you to help us make a meaningful difference. Join us in strengthening the voice of the Canadian kidney cancer community.

Kidney Cancer Canada (KCC) Background

Formed in 2006 by patients for patients, Kidney Cancer Canada (KCC) is the only national Canadian charitable organization focused exclusively on kidney cancer. Established as a response to the lack of specialized resources for those diagnosed, it has evolved into a vital community-driven support network connecting patients, caregivers, and medical professionals across Canada.

Mission and Vision
KCC’s mission is to improve the lives of Canadians affected by kidney cancer by providing support, information, and education, while advocating for access to new, quality treatments. Their vision is to ensure every patient has access to the best care possible.

Key Organizational Activities and History

  • Support & Education: Founded upon the need to help newly diagnosed patients, the organization provides peer support, educational materials, and a "lifeline" for families managing the disease.
  • Advocacy: KCC champions patient access to innovative therapies, ensuring drug reimbursement and better access to clinical trials across provinces.
  • Research: Through partnerships with leading experts, KCC helps fund essential studies to improve treatment and understanding of kidney cancer.
